New Treasurer needed
After some 30 years in the post of Honorary Club Treasurer, Tony Burton is to stand down this year and retire. So we badly need to find a replacement prior to the AGM this coming March, which is not a lot of time.
The post would certainly suit somebody who has some knowledge of the financial services industry, although this is not absolutely necessary. Tony will still be around to offer advice and help, if required.
- You would be expected to deal with the day to day transactions of the club, the payment of bills, monitoring the bank accounts etc.
- There would be no necessity for you to handle cash or cheques, resulting from the payment of fees. This is currently handled by the Administration Secretary and others, who are in charge of the collection of fees.
- Preparation of the Annual Accounts for the Auditors. Again you would not be on your own, help would be provided.
- Preparation of financial forecasts at the time of the AGM, to fix the level of fees.
- You would automatically have a position on the Club Committee and would be required to attend meetings once a month.
- The club has a good reputation for the prompt payment of bills and as our money collection systems become more effective, then with a good level of cash flow being maintained, the job should not prove too onerous.
- Your child/children would swim free.
If you are interested and want to know more about what the job entails, please speak to any of the club representatives, or contact Tony Burton on 020 8205 5480.
